Andrew And Jesus

Text: Jn.1:35-40

Introduction:

Andrew us a good role model and example for other believers.

1. Bible setting

A. John the Baptist is preaching- Jn.1

B. Andrew is from Bethsaida-Jn.1:44

C. Phillip is of the same city.

2. A Provoking to be like Andrew

not outspoken--not outstanding--not a writer---not even in on transfiguration

Called, "Simon Peter’s brother" (Jn.1:40).

3. Would you be an Andrew for Jesus?

I. ANDREW SPENDS THE NIGHT WITH JESUS (see Jn.1:35).

Andrew had a friend in the Lord.

II. ANDREW BRINGS HIS BROTHER TO JESUS (see Jn. 1:41).

Compare Luke 5:3.

III. ANDREW BRINGS A LAD TO JESUS (Jn. 6:8-9) see also vv.5-7.

Phillip was involved in the sense that he tried to calculate how all of the people would be fed.

IV. ANDREW BRINGS GENTILES TO JESUS

Jn.12:20-32. Some people only wanted to being certain types of people to Jesus.

V. ANDREW IS ON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES WITH JESUS

Mk. 13:1-3

VI. ANDREW IS IN THE UPPER ROOM WITH JESUS

He is carrying out Jesus’s commands. (Acts 1:13-14).
