We are commanded to be filled with the Spirit....
I. CONTRAST OF BEING FILLED One Baptism, many fillings....
I Cor 12:13 is the only Spirit Baptism
A. The Holy Ghost Indwells Us For:
1. Identification....Rom 8:9; 14-16
2. Liberation....II Cor 3:17; Rom 8:2
3. Preservation....I in 4:4; Eph 4:30
B. The Holy Ghost Fills Us:
-not for a sign, or shout, or show, BUT FOR SERVICE!!!!
Notice: Acts 1:8; 2:4; 4:8-13 & 4:31-33
In each of these, those who were filled with the Holy Spirit testify
of the resurrected Christ, and the same ones were filled over and
over again.,
II. THE CONDITIONS FOR BEING FILLED
A. There Must be Cleansing....II Tim 2:19-21
B. There Must be Consecration....Rom 12:1-2
C. There Must be Claiming....Jn 7:37-39
III. THE CONSEQUENCE OF BEING FILLED....
A. You Possess the Fruit of the Spirit....Gal 5:22-23
-love, joy, peace--inward
-longsuffering, gentleness, good--outward
-faith, meekness temperance--upward
B. You Provide Fellowship in Spiritual Things....
-Speaking Psalms....Eph 5:19
-Singing Praises....Eph 5:19
-Submitted Person....Eph 5:21
C. You Practice Faithfulness in Service....
-In your walk....Gal 5:16
-In your witness....Acts 1:8
-In your worship....John 4:24
You will never be filled with the Spirit of God as long as you are satisfied
with yourself as you are. You must get hungry....Matt 5:6
