"Preach The Word"

God's Ability To All The
Needs In Life

Text: 2 Tim. 4:1-18

Introduction:

1. His supply for our needs- Phil. 4:19
2. His supply for our want- Psm. 23:1
3. His supply for our desires- Psm. 37:4
4. His supply for all things- Rom. 8:28

I. EMOTIONAL NEEDS-
Paul needed companionship with others-"come shortly unto me."

God supplies our need for "lonliness." We need fellowship with other believers.

II. PHYSICAL NEEDS
Paul needed comfort for the body- "The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus."

God supplies comfort for the body. We can function better spiritually when we are comfortable physically.

III. MATERIAL NEEDS
Paul needed continuation in purpose- "And the books, especially the parchments."

Paul needed books for his study and the parchments for writing letters to the churches. We need to take in through study and give out through witnessing.

IV. MORAL NEEDS
Paul needed control from God- "Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil, the Lord reward him according to his works."

If we do not have God's control in our lives we will seek to get revenge on those who do us wrong. Paul allowed God to reward him according to his works.

V. SPIRITUAL NEEDS
Paul needed communion with God- "No man stood with me."

At Paul's first appearing before the court of Rome, he had no man to appear with him. All forsook him. There are times we feel forsaken, but God will stand with us at all times and during all circumstances.

VI. VOCATIONAL NEEDS
Paul needed conquest by His Lord- "And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom."

If we submit ourselves to God, He will deliver us from all evil, and will preserve us unto Himself. If we continue in the work of God, we must have His delilverance.
