THINGS I CAN'T AFFORD TO MISS
TEXT: John 20:24
INTRODUCTION: There are a lot of things we miss out on in this life, because we wasn't there; but there are some things in the future that God has for them that love him and I don't want to miss them.
I. I DON'T WANT TO MISS THE SERVICE - Matthew 18:20
A lot of church members seemingly are content to be absent when the church services are going on; but for me, I want to be there. I don't want to miss the service. If two or three get together in the Lord's name, He is going to be in the midst to bless. I don't want to miss the blessing.
II. I DON'T WANT TO MISS THE SHOUT - I Thessalonians 4:16-17
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
III. I DON'T WANT TO MISS THE SUPPER - Revelation 19:9
When that great supper is spread in the sky, I want to be there. It will be great when the saints of all ages sit down together. - Matthew 8:11
IV. I DON'T WANT TO MISS THE SADDLE - Revelation 19:16
Christ came the first time to be smitten of men, to suffer and die. The next time He comes to this earth, He will come as "King of Kings and Lords of lords."
V. I DON'T WANT TO MISS THE SUMMIT - Revelation 20:1-3
The Bible assures the child of God that we, who are faithful in our service for Him, will rule and reign with Him. I don't want to miss that.
VI. I DON'T WANT TO MISS THE SINGING - Revelation 21:2
After the seven years of tribulation, thousand years reign, John saw a new heaven and a new earth, Then he saw the holy city coming down from God out of heaven.
2. There is an everlasting joy in that city. The inhabitants of this place are singing a new song. The singing will be of Him, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. I don't want to miss the singing.
CONCLUSION:
Things I can't afford to miss. There is only one way we can be assured of being there when these events take place and that is through the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus paid the price for every sinner at Calvary.
