A GREAT SALVATION

Text: Hebrews 2:3

I. BECAUSE OF THE PERSON THROUGH WHOM IT COMES
A. The Son through whom God has spoken.
B. The appointed heir of all things.
C. The brightness of God's glory.
D. The sin purger.
E. The exalted Christ.

II. BECAUSE OF THE PRICE PAID FOR IT
A. Our Saviour experienced the sufferings of death (2:9).
B. He tasted death, hell and the grave (2:14).

III. BECAUSE OF THE PRIVILEGES IT BESTOWS
A. Many sons (2:10).
B. Many brethren (2:12).

IV. BECAUSE OF THE PERIL FROM WHICH IT SAVES
The fear of death (2:15).

V. BECAUSE OF THE PROSPECTS IT PRESENTS
"Bringing . . . unto glory" (2:10).
It is great because it is the only salvation, procured by
God's Son, which saves from everlasting destruction and
brings to eternal glory. God thought it: Christ bought it:
the Holy Spirit brought it: Satan fought it: I've got it.
