Text: Matthew 27:45-51 1. Calvary affected the Saviour - Vs. 50. 2. Calvary affected the Sovereign - Vs. 46. 3. Calvary affected the Sanctuary - Vs. 51. 4. Calvary affected the Sleeping - Vs. 52-53. 5. Calvary affected the Sinners - Vs. 54.
I. CALVARY AFFECTED THE UPPER WORLD - VS. 45-46 Everything about the Lord Jesus affected God. 1. At His birth - star moved, angels sang. 2. At His baptism - "My beloved Son". 3. At His blood shedding - Notice A. Calvary affected the upper worlds fellowship. (Vs. 46- "My God, why hast thou forsaken me?") B. Calvary affected the upper worlds partnership. (II Cor.5:21 - God made Him a sinner).
II. CALVARY AFFECTED THE OUTER WORLD - VS. 51 No words could ever describe all the changes that Calvary has brought to this world. A. Affected the Temple - vs. 51. B. Affected the Tombs - vs. 52. C. Affected the Tranquility of the earth - vs. 54.
III. CALVARY AFFECTED THE UNDERWORLD - VS. 52-53 A. Redeemed the Old Testament saints -vs. 52. Keep in mind the blood of animals could never put away sin. They had been saved on credit.
B. Released the Old Testament saints -vs.53. They came out of the tombs and appeared to many after His resurrection.
