"Promises That Never Fail"


II Peter 1 : 1-4
"Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ,
to them that have obtained like precious faith with us
through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus
Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through
the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according
as his divine power hath given unto us all things that per-
tain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of
him that hath called us to glory and virtue: whereby are
given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that
by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, hav-
ing escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."


I. THE PROMISE OF RECEPTION AND SALVATION
John 6:37 — "All that the Father giveth me shall come
to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."


II. THE PROMISE OF FORGIVENESS
I John 1:9 — "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
 

III. THE PROMISE OF COMFORT
John 14:18 — "I will not leave you comfortless: I will
come to you."
 

IV. THE PROMISE OF DIVINE FELLOWSHIP
Matthew 28:20 — "Lo, I am with you always, even unto
the end of the world."
 

V. THE PROMISE OF PLENTY
Malachi 3:10 — "Bring ye all the tithes into the store-
house, that there may be meat in mine house, and
prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts,
if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and
pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room
enough to receive it."

Luke 6:38 — "Give, and it shall be given unto you;
good measure, pressed down, and shaken together,
and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete withal it
shall be measured to you again."
 

VI. THE PROMISE OF HEAVENLY CONFESSION
Matthew 10:32 — "Whosoever therefore shall confess
me before men, him will I confess also before my
Father which is in heaven."
