"But There Is a God in Heaven"
Daniel 2:28a
"But there is a God in heaven."
Tell the story of Nebuchadnezzar's dream and the inter-
pretation given by Daniel. He tells the king that "there is
a God in heaven."
I. MOSES LEARNED THIS TRUTH AT THE RED SEA
Give the story from Exodus 14:13-31. In times of distress
we remember that "there is a God in heaven."
II. THE HEBREW CHILDREN LEARNED THIS TRUTH IN THE
FIERY FURNACE
Give the story in Daniel 3. In times of persecution we
learn that "there is a God in heaven."
III. DANIEL LEARNED THIS TRUTH IN THE LIONS' DEN
Give the story from Daniel 6. We learn that "there is
a God in heaven" when we are called upon to stand
up for our convictions.
IV. PETER LEARNED THIS TRUTH IN A PRISON CELL
Give the story from Acts 12:1-17. God's servants learn
that "there is a God in heaven" when the whole world
seems to be against them.
V. WE ARE TO REMEMBER THAT "THERE IS A GOD IN HEAVEN"
UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES
1. When we have sinned—He knows about it, but is
ready to forgive.
2. When we are in trouble and sorrow—He knows and
cares and comes to comfort us.
3. When we come to the end of the way—He will
give us a home where sin and sorrow can never
touch us,
Have you come to know this God in heaven through
faith in His Son?
