"Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved
us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins."
God manifests His love to us in many ways. But He
proves His love best to us through His wonderful gifts. Let
us think of the great gifts of His love.
I. THE GIFT OF HIS WORD
1. He gave us the Bible to tell us of Himself.
2. He gave us the Bible to tell us of Jesus and salvation.
3. He gave us the Bible to guide us.
4. He gave us the Bible to comfort us.
II. THE GIFT OF HIS SON
1. This means that we have a Saviour.
2. This means that our sins are blotted out.
(a) God forgives.
(b) God forgets.
(c) God justifies.
III. THE GIFT OF HIS KEEPING POWER
1. He keeps us saved.
2. He keeps us in peace.
3. He keeps us in time of need.
4. He keeps us in time of sorrow.
5. He keeps us in time of wandering astray.
IV. THE GIFT OF A HOME IN HEAVEN
1. Heaven comes to us through repentance and faith
in the Lord Jesus Christ.
2. What kind of a place is heaven?
(a) It is a sinless place.
(b) It is a tearless place.
(c) It is a place of sweetest fellowship.
(d) It is a place where Jesus is.
