"Preach The Word"

Climbing Up The Hills

Text: Psm.24:3-4

Introduction:

As the high priest of the Old Testament had to make preparations before he went behind the veil, you and I must meet God's conditions to get our prayers answered.

I. THE PINNACLE. V.3

This speaks of the habitation of God. Notice the kinds of places that God abides in.

A. Hills of Happiness (2 Cor. 5:1 ; Phil.1:21)
B. Hills of Harmony---(no trouble there).
C. Hills of Holiness--(Sanctified perfectly).
D. Hills of Hope ----Rev. 21:2-4- no matter how much energy it takes or how tired you get, this is a home worth going to.

II. THE PROBLEM.V.3-4

Who shall ascend into the hills of the Lord? God has a fence around his house and he does not let everybody in.

A. Ignorant don't get in.
Some folks pray and do not go in Jesus name. They will never get in.

B. Workers of iniquity don't get in. (Ps.66:18)

C. Indifferent don't get in. (James 1:6-8)
It takes strength and earnestness to climb a hill.
Jesus said seek, knock, and ask.

III. THE PILGRIM

A. Clean Hands (v.4)
The laver of the tabernacle was for cleansing.

B. Pure Heart (v.4)

1. A Heart of Faith (Heb.11:6)
2. A Heart That is Fixed (Ps.57:7)
3. A Heart That is Fervent (James 5:16)

IV. THE PROMISE

A. Pardon (1 Jn.1:9)
B. Perception (James 1:5)
C. Power (Isa.40:31)

CONCLUSION:
Why stay in the low country? Move to high country, the holy hills of God.
