GOING THE DISTANCE TO GET SOME BREAD Text: (Lu.15:l 1-32) Text v.17 How far would you go to get some Bread? Would you go the Distance like the Prodigal? Three Things about the Prodigal: 1. He was: Running Over v. 12 (had more than he needed, had more than the could handle) 2. He was: Running Off v.13 (left home) 3. He was: Running Out v.14 (began to be in want) To go the Distance to get some Bread, a person must: 1. RECOGNIZE v.17 A. He recognized Who he Was (still a son, still had a father, still had a home) B. He recognized Where he Was (in a far countly) 2. RISE v.18 (I will arise) 3. RETURN v.20 (it is not enough just to rise, a person must return) 4. REPENT v.21 5. RECEIVE v.20 6. ROBE v.22 A. He was Robed B. He was Ringed C. He was Shewed (shod) 7.
