Funeral Messages by Carl Johnson
"LORD, MAKE ME TO KNOW MY END"
Text: Psalm 39:4
Introduction:
This is a good prayer for all of us to pray.
God wants us to consider our end — Deuteronomy 32:29.
It is a wise person who considers where he will be in
eternity and prepares for it. God says in His Word: "Prepare
to meet thy God" ( Amos 4:12).
I. THIS IS THE END OF THE SAVED PERSON.
A. He goes to be with Christ — Philippians 1:21, 23; II
Corinthians 5:1-8.
B. He gets a new body at the first resurrection — I Thessalonians
4:16-18; Philippians 3:20, 21; I Corinthians 15:51-57.
C. He rules with Christ for 1,000 years — Revelation 20:
4-6.
D. He lives forever with the • Lord and His people — I
Thessalonians 4:17; Revelation 21:3, 4; Revelation 22:1-5.
II. THIS IS THE END OF THE UNSAVED PERSON.
A. He goes to hades — Luke 16:19-31.
B. He gets a body at the resurrection of the unjust — Revelation
20:11, 12; Acts 24:15.
C. He will be judged at the Great White Throne Judgment
— Revelation 20:11-13.
D. He will be cast into hell forever — Revelation 21:14, 15.
Conclusion:
Consider your end — what will it be? Thank God it is possible
to say, "Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last
end be like his" (Numbers 23:10). The righteous person is the
person who has received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord
and Saviour (II Corinthians 5:21). Have you received Him?
If not, will you do so now? ( John 1:12).
