IF'S OF DISCIPLESHIP
TEXT: II Timothy 2:11-14
I. "IF" OF A SURRENDERED LIFE V. 11
Life in Christ is richest when life in me is poorest. We die to ourselves to live with Him. The deader, the more lively.
(Gal. 2:20)
Dead Man
1. He goes where he's put.
2. Gives no excuses, never talk back.
3. Stays where he's put.
4. Easy to find.
Note:
It is a process in you - Paul "I die daily"
It is a possibility for you.
It is a power through you.
II. "IF" OF SUFFERING LOYALTY. V. 12
Getting saved is simple.
Walking with God is not at times.
Sometimes walking with God as a Christian is difficult to say the least. Things happen we don't understand. But what we don't understand we stand under.
III. "IF" OF SAD LOSSES. V. 12
Deny Him -- deny us.
If we do not allow God full access to our lives, we deny Him ability to give us full blessing and joy.
1. Answered prayers
2. Power over habits
3. Sickness in body
4. Powerless preaching
5. Family failure
IV. "IF" OF SOVEREIGN LOVE. V. 12
God loves me unconditional. I can't do anything to make Him love me more .... or less
He can't love me anymore or less than He has from the beginning.
