THREE THINGS EVERYBODY OUGHT TO KNOW
II Timothy 1:8-12
INTRODUCTION
There are some things we don't have to know, but in vs. 12 there is suggested at least three things we ought to know.
I. We Need To Know Who To Confess or Trust
A. We Are As Safe As That Which We Trust
B. Jesus' Credentials
1. His Virgin Birth
2. His Virtuous Life
3. His Vicarious Atonement
4. His Victorious Resurrection
5. His Visible Return
II. We Need To Know What To Commit.
We Need To Commit:
A. Our Temple
B. Our Treasure
C. Our Time
D. Our Talents
E. Our Children
III. We Need To Know When To Collect --
"In That Day" - Matthew 19:27-29
A. We can collect now and then.
B. We need to learn how to receive heaven on our way to heaven.
C. If we invest properly, we can receive dividends now and everlasting life then.
CONCLUSION:
It all depends on our commitment. Illustration of the sign behind the hotel clerk's desk that reads, "Responsible for valuables only if deposited."
