"Preach The Word"

BEFORE AND AFTER SALVATION

Ephesians 2:1-10

INTRODUCTION:

In these verses we find past guilt, present grace, and prospective glory. It is always good to contrast between the word saved and lost -- the two simple words that the Bible uses to classify all mankind.

I. Explanation

A. Saved

1. John 1:12

2. II Corinthians 5:17 - It is not by relative reformation or by religion, but rather a birth.

B. Secure----John 10:28-30

C. Satisfied---1. Jeremiah 2:13

II. Example -- Paul

A. Experience

B. Expression

1. Galatians 2:20

2. II Timothy 1:12

3. Impression Without Expression Will Bring Depression.

C. Expectancy

I Thessalonians 4:13-18

III. Exhortation

A. Rethink---- Isaiah 1:18

B. Repent--- Luke 13:3

C. Receive--- John 1:12

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now I'm found, was blind but now I see.

If you only knew my Savior, if you only knew His boundless grace, you would seek His loving favor, you would early seek His face. If you knew Him, only knew Him, you would e'er to Him be true. If you knew Him, only knew Him, you'd love my Savior too.
