REVIVAL IS A LIMITED SUBJECT

No other group, organization or assembly can know what we know concerning the "Times of Refreshing from the Presence of the LORD." The Houses of Congress does not know what we’re talking about. The White House sure doesn’t. The great companies across the world with all the knowledge they possess, knows nothing of our subject. The Courts of this nation, pass judgments daily, depending upon vast resources of wisdom and knowledge YET, they nothing of Revival. You don’t find Revival breaking out down at the Schoolhouse, the very seat of knowledge. But they do not know what you and I know concerning Revival.

I am saying to you and to us all, that there is only one people that know Revival and that’s the LORD’s Church! Revival can affect the White House, It can affect the Court House, It can affect the School House, It can affect your House and mine but it must first affect the LORD’s House.

Our text takes us back into a period of Grave Digression by the People of God brought about by Godless Diversions and consequently there was Great Depression. Israel is at a low point in their spiritual life. They need GOD! The state of things in our world is as if it were a parallel society. Note these similarities between Israel’s day and our's.

(5) PRIORITIES REALIGNED

(6) POWERLESS RELIGION

We have assessed the problems of the times and agree whole-heartedly that Revival is needed and it is needed NOW.

We have also in these weeks past looked at the subject of the HOW of Revival. We’re not talking about working something up or praying something down. We’re talking about the How of Preparing ourselves to receive from the hand of our God, Heaven sent Holy Ghost Revival.

Might we focus our attentions now on:

1. SEE FIRE AS UNNECESSARY FOR THE DAY

2. SEE FIRE AS UNNATURAL TO THEIR DIGNITY

1. THE FIRE SPARED THEM (PAST SIN)

2. THE FIRE SAVED THEM (PRESENT SIN)

3. THE FIRE SUSTAINED THEM (FUTURE SIN)

1. SOME ATTEMPT TO IGNORE THE FIRE

2. SOME ATTEMPT TO ESCAPE THE FIRE

3. SOME ATTEMPT TO CONTROL THE FIRE

4. SOME ATTEMPT TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE

1. IT WAS VERTICAL fell

Heaven was its Absolute Source. It did not come horizontally as the efforts of men. Did not come from within the altar or beneath.

2. IT WAS VISIBLE "they saw it"

3. IT WAS VERIFIABLE "the evidence it left behind"

1. DECLARED THE PREROGATIVE OF GOD

2. DISTINGUISHED THE PRESENCE OF GOD

3. DISPLAYED THE POWER OF GOD

4. DEFINED THE PATH OF GOD

1. THE HELPLESSNESS OF MAN

2. THE HOPELESSNESS OF RELIGION

4. THE FIRE CHANGED SOME THINGS
