A NEW BEGINNING
TEXT: Genesis 13:1-18; 14:1-24
TEXT: (Genesis 13:3) "And he went on his journeys from the south even to Beth el,
unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Beth-el and Hai."
INTRODUCTION: Abraham had been down in Egypt. Seemingly he was out of the place of
blessing. He returns to Bethel, which means "the house of God." Here he calls on
God and makes a new beginning in his life.
There are time that we as Christians must find an altar and there call on God and
rededicate ourselves unto Him.
I. THE REQUISITES FOR A NEW BEGINNING (Genesis 13:1-4)
1. A separation from the world.
II. THE ROAD TO BACKSLIDING (Genesis 13:5-13)
III. THE REWARD OF HUMILITY (Genesis 13:14-18)
IV. THE RESULT OF FAITHLESSNESS (Genesis 14:1-12)
1. Fear of enemy.
V. THE REVELATION OF GOD (Genesis 14:13-24)
CONCLUSION: Life's triumphs come after life's testings. After Abraham called upon God,
God blessed him and gave deliverance by His hand. Let us make a new beginning.
