IT'S TIME TO TAKE INVENTORY
TEXT:Job 16:19
INTRODUCTION: The annual and semi-annual inventory is a full scale check
up. The debits and credits, the stock and sales. If the business needs a check-up
then surely the Christian desperately needs to take a careful check and make every
correction needed.
I. A DETAILED ACCOUNT ABOUT SALVATION - II Timothy 1:12
A. The account of the time and place.
B. The assurance of His abiding presence.
C. The abundant life as daily provisions.
II. A DELIBERATE ABSENCE FROM SERVICE - Hebrews 10:25
A. Excuses—blaming others for your failures.
B. Envy against anyone doing more than you are.
C. Engaged in too many worldly ways.
III. DELAY OF YOUR DUTY AS A SAINT -II Timothy 2:19
A. A part of the fellowship broken and crumbling.
B. I promise to do what I can to help the church.
C. I pledge my support for the cause of Christ.
IV. DROP-OUT STORY THAT STRIPPED YOU SPIRITUALLY Galatians
4:
A. You've told it so much you've made yourself believe your excuse.
B. You've played up your self and played down the church long enough.
C. You've planned to stop, straighten up, start over; do it now and lick you
enemy.
V. DISAGREEMENT THAT LEFT YOU IN THE SAME STATE
Gal. 5:15
A. When you can hurt feelings without feeling hurt; you need spiritual help
B. When you get mad and quit. You were not playing right at the start.
C. When you confess Christ your sin; it is easy to forgive the other fellow.
VI. DE-RAILMENT LEFT YOU BOBBING, BOUNCING AND
SINKING -Gal. 5:
A. Running off track brings a lot of jolting.
B. Reverse your directions--turn around with Christ.
C. Repentance and returning to Christ is the answer.
VII. DECLARE YOUR NEW STATE AND STANDING — Philippians
3:13-14
A. Start anew with your wonderful Lord.
B. Scrap your old ways--they are under the blood.
C. Stay on the main track with Christ as Lord.
