WHAT DOES SATAN HAVE?
Text: John 8:44
I. SATAN HAS A WILL
"And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will" 2 Tim. 2:26.
The Devil surely has a will and he has used his will against the. will of God. "For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High Isa.14: 13_14.
II. SATAN HAS A MEMORY
"Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone" Matt. 4:5-6.
In tempting the Lord Jesus to jump from the pinnacle. Satan quoted a Scripture verse from memory. Satan has a memory and it is a very good one, too.
III. SATAN HAS DESIRES
"And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat" Luke 22:31.
Satan has desires just as any other person has desires. His desires are many. Satan desired to exalt his throne above the stars of God. Satan desired to sit upon the throne of God. Satan desired to be like the most High God.
Is it any wonder that he desired to have Peter to sift as wheat?
IV. SATAN HAS DEVICES
"Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices" 2 Cor. 2:11.
The word device means a plan, a scheme, sometimes a trick. The plans and the schemes of Satan are many. We who know the Lord Jesus as a personal Saviour know of some of Satan's devices and are ignorant of them, but we do not know all of them.
