THE UNEQUALED WORD Text: John 7:37-46 INTRODUCTION -The truth and authority of God's Word has never been equaled. "God who ... spake in times past ... by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, " Heb. 1:1-2 ... The Word became flesh," John 1:14 .... Whether spoken through the prophets or from the lips of the Lord Jesus, the Word of God is without equal. I. SPOKEN WITH THE AUTHORITY IN THE REDEMPTION OF THE RACE ... 1. "Let my people go" _ spoken seven times in Exodus ... (a) Each time Pharaoh refused _ and the plagues were sent ... (b) The Word of God was authoritative. In the end, Pharaoh was glad to let them go ... 2. This same authority is available today if you will heed the Word of God ... (a) Sinners _ unsaved _ are the slaves of Satan _ He is not willing to let you go (b) The Word is stronger, Satan cannot hold you when you follow the word. . II. SPOKEN WITH FINALITY ON THE CROSS ... "It is finished." 1. Redemption is complete in Christ ... 2. Jesus paid the full price ... There is no more sacrifice for sin ... III. SPOKEN WITH SIMPLICITY ... 1. Jesus spoke in simple language ... 2. He used parables that all may understand. . . 3. The Word is not complicated. Man has complicated it with translation... IV. SPOKEN SUBLIMELY 1. He spoke of God reverently ... always in humility and submission ... 2. He spoke about the joys of Heaven ... 3. He spoke about the torments of Hell ... 4. He spoke with such authority no one raised a question ... V. SPOKEN ANGRILY ... 1. To the Pharisees, Matt. 23:13_15 ... 2. To the money changers, Matt. 21:12_13 ... 3. To the wise of this world, I Cor. 1:19_21 VI. SPOKEN TENDERLY ... 1. To little children ... 2. To the widow of Nain, Luke 7:12-15 ... 3. To the woman with an issue of blood, Luke 8:47-48 ... 4. To all who are lost and in need of Christ, Matt. 11:28 ... |
