SERIES: GOD S BLUEPRINT FOR CHURCH MEMBERSHIP SUBJECT: Consecrated Living READING: Romans 12:1-2 TEXT: "... present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service" (Rom. 12:2) Introduction It is possible to be saved, yet not surrendered. In the preceding chapters, Paul has been dealing with the salvation and sanctification of the believer; in these verses his theme is the believer s surrender to all the will of God. He deals with: I. The Divine Obligation to Surrender (12:1) 1) The Revelation of Divine Love (12:1) 2) The Expectation of Divine Love (12:1) II. The Divine Order of Surrender (12:1) 1) Totally Offered (12:1) 2) Worthily Offered (12:1) III. The Divine Object in Surrender (12:2) 1) The Transformation of the Believer s Character (12:2) 2) The Regulation of the Believer s Conduct (12:2) Conclusion If a life is truly surrendered, it is to be a living, holy, and acceptable sacrifice, seen not only in the transformation of character, but the regulation of conduct. May we know in experience the divine obligation to surrender, the divine order of surrender, and the divine object of surrender. Remember, He only consecrates the whole. FROM DR.
