"Preach The Word"

TURNING THE WORLD UPSIDE DOWN

(Sermon on Visitation)
These that have turned the world upside down are
come hither also. Acts 17:6.
Compliments often come from enemies of Christ. Sin has
turned world wrongside up. Christians must right it.
Old preacher preached on this outline:
1. The world is wrong side up.
2. The world must be got right side up.
3. We are the fellows to do it.

I. Paul and Silas were willing to get out. Finished work at
Philippi, they passed thru . . . and came to Thessalonica.
A. They were always on the move. Paul "straightway
preached Christ."
B. They were directed by the Holy Spirit. Acts 16:6-7.
Spirit didn't let them go into Bithynia. Holy Spirit
will open closed doors if we are in touch.
C. They were on move always with same purpose:
Exalt Jesus.
D. With the same dedciation of life. Burning passion
for lost souls.
E. Let's not be afraid of dedicated visiting in community.

II. They were willing to speak out. Acts 17:2-3. They
went to people. Didn't wait, but spoke out.
A. We must follow Paul's example in giving the same
Word, the same message of the grace of Christ.
B. We must .depend on same agent of Conviction—the
Spirit. There will be the same kind of conversions.

III. They were willing to be run out.

Paul knew when to stand. When he had to leave Thessalonica, he came to Berea and at once gave the Word in the synagogue.
Indications are that failure or success made no difference
to Paul in the intensity of his messages. He
believed souls lost without Christ and he was in debt
literally to them to give them the truth.
We cannot preach truth of Christ without making
enemies.
