Dedicated To The Men of God Who Preach the Word of God As It
Is To Men As They Are
"Preach The Word"

A CHURCH'S MOST DANGEROUS SITUATION
Wherefore the Lord said, "Forasmuch as this people
draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do
honor me, but have removed their heart far from me,
and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of
man." (Isa. 29:13).
There is little atheism today. No real fighters like Ingersoll
to question God's existence. (Ingersoll became annoyed
at Scotchman who heckled him, and said, "You little. pipsqueak, I'll take you up and eat you in one bite."
The Scotchman replied, "Yes, and if ye do, ye'll have
more brains in your stomach than ye have in your
head.") The "fool hath said in his heart, there is no God." "
"Mouth" religion is demonstrating itself in our churches-
I. Many churches are deceived about their condition.
Membership has risen, but spiritual vitality is weaker.
Sin and indifference revealed in too many Christians.
II. We are at ease in Zion. Amos 6:1. Rev. 3:17 explains
the general situation: "Because thou sayest, I am rich;
and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and
knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and
poor, and blind, and naked.
A. Fundamental Christians have been asleep while
modernism and Catholicism have been battling.
B. At ease in the matter of teaching the Word of God.
The gospel, simply stated is, "Christ died for our
sins."
C. We are at ease in matter of separation from world.
D. At ease, also, about the second coming of Jesus, the
Christian's brightest and most blessed earthly hope.
III. We have substituted religious conversations for vital
relationships to Christ. Religious psychology, as given
by Catholic Sheen, and Protestant psychologists tell how
to get rid of fears and phobias apart from God. How can
we have this vital fellowship with Christ?
A. See yourself as a lost sinner. That is vital.
B. See in Christ your only possible hope.
C. Make a personal acceptance of Jesus Christ.
