"Preach The Word"

A Better Resurrection

Heb 11:35

One thing the Word of God constantly puts before man is the fact of an Eternity that awaits every person in this life. If a person has made preparations, then Eternity will be but a joyous and continuous Blessing, but if a person has not mad preparations, then words can never describe what awaits such a person. In the verse that we read in your hearing, the writer of Hebrews recalls some of the great people of the Bible, and while they were not mentioned by name, yet their faith is but altogether apparent. Notice in verse- 35

1. The Trials Of This Life— Others Were Tortured

2. The Temptations Of Life— Not Accepting Deliverance

3. The Triumphs Of Life— Obtain A Better Resurrection

There have been many Resurrections listed in the Bible, but in every case, except that of the Lord Jesus, who became the First fruits of them that slept, had to die again.

1. The Woman of Zarapath's Son iKi: 17 (Elijah)

2. The great Shunamite Woman's Son 2 Ki: 4 (Elisha)

3. The Ressurection At Elisha's Tomb 2 Ki: 13 (Bones)

4. The Raising of Dorcos (By Simon Peter)

5. The Raising of young Man of Troas (By Paul)

6. The Raising of Janus Daughter (By Jesus)

7. The Raising of The Widows Son of Nain (Jesus)

8. The Raising of Lazarus in Bethany (By Jesus)

Yet, these all had to die again, because they had not obtained "The Better Ressurection." Let us notice together some precious things about "The Better Ressurection"

1: The Place of This Ressurection:

1 Thess: 4-16" For The Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and the Trump of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first."

17- "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

(A) There are some outstanding things about "The Better Ressurection"

1: It Starts with The Lord Himself

2: It Continues with Him Descending

3: It Carries on With Him Shouting

4: It Climaxes with The Dead In Christ Rising first, Then we which are alive being caught up together with them.

5: It Consumates in The Clouds, In the air

(B) Beloved, That means that this Ressurection will take place, somewhere in Jesus' presence. And that's all that is needed to make it a Better Ressurection.

2: The People of This Ressurection:

Jn. 5-28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice.

Lk 13-29 "And they shall come from the East, and from the West, and from the North, and from the South, and shall sit down in the Kingdom of God.

(A) Saints, of all ages, and from all places will take part in this great and glorious event.

          (B) Reunions, like never before, laughing, crying with joy, screams of              ecstacy. Opened arms moms will reach out for daughters, Dad, with              tear filled eyes will take hold of sons.

(C) There will be Those who eame in from the East- which symbolizes "Sunrise of Life:"

There will be - those who come in from the North- Which symbolizes "Barrenness of Life":

There will be - Those who come in from the South- which symbolizes the -Fruitfulness of Life:

There will be - those who come in from the West- Which symbolizes the "Sunset of Life:

(D) But Thank God none will be left out of this great Ressurection:

3: The Perfection of This Ressurection:

Rev. 21-4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away.

(A) Glory will finally be ours. Listen to the words of Paul Echo:

Ro: 8-18 "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be Compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

(B) Folks, when we arise that morn never again to have to look upon the decaying bodies of Our loved ones, and know the pain is gone from us forever-

(C) Crutches gone, braces discarded, wheel chairs, hospitals, operating rooms forever Past

4: The Pleasure of This Ressurection

Rev. 14-2 "And I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne,

(A) The pleasures of this Ressurection will be far more than we can number but what a joy Just to be able to praise Him, like we've always wanted to.

(B) We'll Praise Him in our

Songs Shouting    Speech Shamelessness  Satisfaction    Sinlessness

and in Spirit

5: The Purpose of This Ressurection:

Rev. 22-3 "And there shall be no more curse; but the throne of God, and of the Lamb Shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him."

(A) God made man to serve Him, and He will have it to be. If not in this life, there awaits A Better Life for those who Trust in Him. Do You?
