The Gift Of God Jn 4:10
Jesus told this woman, that if she had only known "The Gift Of God" and who it was that she was talking with, she would have asked of Him to give her to drink. This world seems to be in the same conditions as was this woman. There seems to be a blindness to the very idenity of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself among the people. There are so many beliefs and cults and what have you until it seems that the world is having trouble identifying the True One. The very reason why so many are lost today, is because the god of this world has blinded the minds of them who are lost. The devil is so busy telling the lost how much they will have to give up if they get saved, but not one time does he mention " The Gift Of God"Jesus told this woman here- "If thou knewest the gift of God" That 's what I want to share with you for a little while today1: To The Weary He Giveth Rest:
(A) If this world knew today how The Lord could give rest for weary souls. I believe there would be more folks coming to Jesus. Ill: Gadarene Maniac- Not doubt very weary, but thank God one day Jesus came unto him, He was never the same (B) Sin like the legion will push a person on, but The Lord Jesus can give rest for that weary soul. (C) I have seen lives broken by sin, and the weariness of the devil set in, but then Jesus passed by and a New Creature Came forth!!!!! 2: To The Guilty He Giveth Righteousness: Ro. 9-30 "What shall we say then? That the Gentiles which followed not after righteousness; have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith." (A) The gentile world- guilty of every hideous sin against God that one can imagine- and yet, God in His love and kindness giveth unto them righteousness- in the person of Jesus. (B) Saul of Tarsus- guilty of sinful crimes against God and his people- yet He was given righteousness. Rahab The Harlot- In Jericho, guilty of Immoral living, yet to her and her family, God gave righteousness The Gift Of God ZacheusWoman Taken in Adultry Woman in Simons house (C) Even you and I came under this catigory, But Thank God, He hath given us righteousness 3: To The Obedient He Giveth The Spirit: Acts 5-32 "And we are witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. (A) God never promised a bed of roses to any of us- yet, to the obedient ones He hath promised something greater than all the roses of this life. He hath promised The Blessed Holy Spirit (B) I had rather have the Holy Spirit bearing Witness in my soul when I preach, or when I witness, or just in my every day life, than to have all the things of this world. 4. To the Troubled He Giveth Peace: Jn 14-27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (A) Look at Job Property Gone Family Gone Companion Forsaken him Accused by So Called Friends, yet he could say : Job. 13-15 "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him." Job 19-25 "For I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that he shall at the latte day stand upon the earth. 26- And though after my skin, worms destroy this body of mine, yet in my flesh shall I see God. (B) When the heart is troubled, and all the world about you becomes a wilderness. The Lord will give you Peace 5: To the Lost He Giveth Salvation: Jn 19-10 "For The Son of Man is come to seek and save that which was lost." (A) All the way from Glory, came the Blessed Lord Jesus, and hung upon a cruel cross that he might have the opportunity to give to you dear lost soul the gift of Salvation Jn 3-16" For God So Loved The World (B) Nothing in all the world will take you over the tide like a good old fashion dose of Salvation. What about it? I hope you will . Sermon From Evangelist T.D. Burgess
