"Preach The Word"
THE MANNER OF THE SECOND COMING OF
CHRIST
"He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly" (Rev. 22:30).
Christ Is Coming:
1. In the Clouds
"And they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven" (Matt.
24:30b; 26:64: Rev. 1:7).
2. In the Glory of His Father
"For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father" (Matt. 16:27a).
3. In His Own Glory
"When the Son of man shall come in his glory" (Matt. 25:31a).
4. In Flaming Fire
"And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be
revealed from heaven with his angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on
them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus
Christ" (II Thess. 1:7, 8).
5. With Great Power
"And they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power
and great glory" (Matt. 24:30b; 28:18).
6. With His Angels
"For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels"
(Matt. 16:27a; 25:31; Mark 8:38; (II Thess. 1:7).
7. With a Shout
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice
of the archangel, and with the trump of God" (I Thess. 4:16a).
8. With His Saints
"And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another,
and toward all men, even as we do toward you: to the end he may establish
your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints" (I Thess. 3:12, 13).
9. As a Thief
"Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his
garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame" (Rev. 16:15; II Peter
3:10; I Thess. 5:2).
10. As the Lightning
"For as the lightning cometa out of the east, and shineth even unto the
west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Matt. 24:27).
11. As He Ascended
"And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up;
and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked
stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in
white apparel; which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up
into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven shall
so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven" (Acts 1:9-11).
12. Suddenly
"Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping" (Mark 13:36; Rev. 22:20).
13. Unexpectedly
"Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of
man cometh" (Matt. 24:44, 42; Luke 12:40).
"Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son
of man cometh" (Matt. 25:13).
