"Preach The Word"
THE "CALLS" OF GOD
"Faithful is he that calleth you" (I Thess. 5:24).
1. God Calls Us With An Holy Calling
"Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our
works, but according to his own purpose and grace" (II Tim. 1:9; Rom. 9:24;
I Peter 1:15).
2. God Calls Us to Be Saints
"Beloved of God, called to be saints" (Rom. 1:7). "Unto the church of God
which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to
be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ
our Lord" (I Cor. 1:2).
3. God Calls Us to Peace
"God hath called us to peace" (I Cor. 7:15).
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth,
give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid"
(John 14:27; Phil. 4:6, 7).
4. God Calls Us to Virtue
"According as his divine power hath given us all things that pertain unto
life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to
glory and virtue" (II Peter 1:3).
5. God Calls Us Out of Darkness
"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a
peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath
called you out of darkness" (I Peter 2:9; Col. 1:13; Eph. 5:8; I Thess. 5:4,
5).
6. God Calls Us Into His Marvelous Light
"Who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light" (I Peter
2:9; II Cor. 4:6; John 8:12; Rom. 13:12).
7. God Calls Us Unto His Eternal Glory
"But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by
Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect,
stablish, strengthen, settle you" (I Peter 5:10; 1 Thess. 2:12; 11 Peter
1:5).
