LAST THINGS
"But the end of all things is at hand" (I Peter 4:3).
1. The Last End
"Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his"
(Num. 23:10; Jer. 12:4; Daniel 8:19). 2. The Last Words
"Now these be the last words of David ... The Spirit of the Lord spake by
me, and his word was in my tongue" (II Samuel 23:1, 2; Matt. 27:46; Luke
23:34, 43, 46).
3. The Last State
"The last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be
also unto this wicked generation" (Matt. 12:45).
4. The Last Enemy
"For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last
enemy that shall be destroyed is death" (I Cor. 15:25, 26).
5. The Last Time
"Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist
shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is
the last time" (I John 2:18; Jude 17, 18; 1 Peter 1:5, 20).
6. The Last Adam
"And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last
Adam was made a quickening spirit" (I Cor. 15:45).
7. The Last Trumpet
"Behold, I shew you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be
changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the
trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we
shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this
mortal must put on immortality" (I Cor. 15:51-53).
