HOW TO HAVE A REVIVAL

Text: Ps. 85:6

Introduction: What is revival all about?  Only the Bible can give us a clear picture of what it takes to have a revival and the results that will follow once revival has come.

I. WHAT IS REVIVAL?

    1. A renewal of grace.
    2. A renewal of vision.
    3. A renewal of soul burden.
    4.  A renewal of God enjoyment.
    5. A time of soul winning.

II. HOW CAN ONE HAVE A REVIVAL?

    1. Have faith in the God of revivals.
    2. Pray to the God of revivals.
    3. Expect God to give revival.

III. MEET CONDITIONS FOR REVIVAL

    1. Preach Gods Word (v8).
    2. Hear God's Word (v.8).
    3. Turn away from folly (v.8).
    4. Confess your sins to God.

IV. COOPERATE WITH THE GOD OF REVIVALS

    1. Seek His glory (v.9).
    2. Demonstrate mercy(v.10).
    3. Exalt His righteousness (v.10).
    4. Repent of all known sin

V. RESULTS OF REVIVAL

    1. Truth shall spring out of the earth (v.11).
    2. God shall look down from heaven (v.11).
    3. God shall give that which is good (v.12).
    4. The church shall yield her increase (v.12).
    5. God's promises to go before us (v.13).

Conclusion:

When revival comes God is honored, the church is blessed, and the saints are edified in the Lord.  Are you a candidate for revival?
