"Preach The Word"





MOTHER

Proverbs 31:28

"Her children arise up, and call her blessed."

The one word that has been used to identify this precious saint is "Mother." What a mother she was. I couldn*t say it like the children have, but I sure can say "amen" to what they have said.

Her life has been one that was dedicated to her church. Her testimony was one of her dedication to the Lord. She loved her family, her children, and she loved the Lord.

Three Things:

I want to use three verses that express the person that this dear mother was.

I. HER SACRIFICE:

Verse 15: ""She riseth also while it is yet night and giveth meat to her household."

How many times did she do without so that her children could have?

II. HER WISDOM:

Verse 26: "She openeth her mouth with Wisdom."

Maybe she didn*t have any degrees from the college or university, but she found the answer to the problems of life from God*s Word.

Ill. HER EXPECTATIONS:

Verse 2: "Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come."

She knew that there was something better "in time to come." That is all a reality now. Her labor is over and she is resting in that which she expected.
