Nehemiah
"They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with
those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and
with the other hand held a weapon."
Here is a man that can be remembered for the many things he did for the
church and the blessing he was to many of the members, but if one title
could be given him it would this, "He was a builder."
Three Things:
There are three things describing these men in Nehemiah as they rebuilt
the walls.
I. THE BUILDER:
"Which builded on the wall."
He was a part of every building of this church. He seemed tireless as
he labored together because he had a love for the church.
He built a home of honor, walked a straight line for his family to
follow.
He Built a testimony, that is a pattern for all to follow.
II. THE BURDEN:
"They that bare burdens."
The word "laded" means "to lay on." He shared
every burden with the pastor, with his teacher and with the less
fortunate.
III. THE BATTLE:
"With the other hand held a weapon."
He was a fighter for the Lord. With the tools of his trade he gave it
his very best, but he could lay down those tools, brush his hands off and
pick up a Bible and be right at home.
