"And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and
to work with your own hands."
Here was a man that very few people knew because of his quietness and
manner of life, but he was genuine."
There are three phrases in this verse of Scripture that describe this
man.
I. HIS WAY:
"quiet"
He asked why he didn*t
say much, his reply was, "If I don*t
say much I won*t
have to take much back."
II. HIS WALK:
"own business"
He looked after his own business and never interfered in the life of
anyone else.
Ill. HIS WORK:
"to work with your own hands."
Up to his retirement he worked in the furniture factory. The department
he worked in was building dining room furniture.
Maybe he never attained great heights or established the place of
prominence, but I just thought how many tables he built to provide a place
for families to sit down and eat and fellowship.
We may not be a great speaker, but we can be a great worker with our
hands.
