"For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and
to be with Christ; which is far better."
Like Paul, to some people heaven is so real that they have a desire to
just take off for home. This was the thing that marked this life.
Paul had the privilege to see what was on the other side. He said it
and not lawful for him to write about it and it left him in the
"strait" and "betwixt the two". The results of Ieaving
here there is described in three ways.
I. THE HOME BROKEN HERE WILL BE PREPARED OVERTHERE:
II Corinthians 5:1
"For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were
dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands,
eternal in the heavens."
This before us is the old house in which this child of God lived, but
they have moved out now. The tie has been broken, the home here is
broken but it should bring joy to our heart to know they have moved into
a prepared home.
II. THE HOUSE AFFLICTED HERE WILL BE PERFECTED
OVER THERE:
II Corinthians 4:17
"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for
us a for more exceeding and eternal weight of glory."
This dear soul has known what affliction is. They have known the hurt
and the pain, but that moment is past now and they are enjoying that
eternal weight of glory.
III.THE HOPE EXPECTED HERE WILL BE
SIGHT OVER THERE:
I John 3:2
"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear
what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear we shall be like
him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath his
hope".
For this one that hope has become a reality.
