INTRODUCTION:
The three chapters of Titus are divided into three important needs.
Chapter 1: Godliness in the Church
Then in verse 10 Paul gives the reason for seleition of good men.
"For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the
circumcision."
Chapter 2: Godliness in the Home
All of it is summed up in verse 7, "In all things shewing thyself
a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincereity."
Chapter 3: Godliness in the World
Verse 1: "Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and
powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work."
I. A GOOD WAY TO FIND
"that they which have believed in God."
A. We call it "The Good Way" because everything about
salvation is good.
B. Man just doesn't know the "Good Way" until he becomes a
believer. Paul said, "that they which have believed in God."
II. A GOOD WORK TO DO:
"that they which have believed in God might be careful to
maintain good works."
A. Whichever way we look at it, the work we do for God is a "Good
Work."
John 15:16
B. But Paul's warning is that we "might be careful to maintain
good works."
III. A GOOD WITNESS TO BEAR:
"that they which have believed in God might be careful to
maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men."
This scripture could have meant either of two things. One that it
would be profitable to work for God to the man that was working, but it could also mean
that it would be profitable to all others who would see you "Good Works" and let
it change their life. Matt. 5:16.
